Meet Rali, our Talent Partner
Our People team is responsible for making sure every Tidean comes to work happy and engaged, and leaves feeling the same at the end of the day! We’d love for you to get to know them too – here’s Rali, Talent Partner for our Sofia office.
👋 Hey Rali! Can you introduce yourself in a sentence?
Fundamentally I care about others, which is why I love my job as a Talent Partner. My friends and family tell me I’m funny, reliable and sometimes even wiser than expected! I would hope that’s true 😊
What’s your background?
Quite varied. I have a double degree in Business Administration and Journalism and Mass Communications from the American University in Bulgaria (AUBG). I started my career as a journalist a while ago, then decided that it wasn’t the right path for me.
I switched to a more business-related field – recruitment. Within recruitment I’ve had the chance to communicate with people from Germany, China, USA, and now mostly Bulgaria, so it definitely has been a journey.
How did you cross paths with Tide?
The job ad immediately grabbed my attention – a flexible environment where everything can evolve from one day to the next. The role corresponds well with my personality.
What’s your typical working day?
That’s exactly it, there is no typical working day at Tide! From making phone calls with potential candidates to arranging interviews, with some administrative pickles and budget discussions thrown in, no day is the same. Plus the daily challenge of finding a free meeting room – the hustle is real!
What do you like about the culture at Tide?
I like the fact that people are free to voice their opinions, concerns and ideas. I know that our feedback is definitely taken into account so I’m confident that I can have a real impact in my role. I also get the treat of traveling to London every now and then ✈️
If you had to choose one reason why you love working at Tide – what would it be?
Every company is as great as the people who work there – here we definitely have some of the greatest! This is the reason why I joined the company in the first place, and as a Talent Partner my main aim is to keep the level of awesomeness in the team high 🙌
What’s the most interesting challenge you’ve came across since you joined Tide?
Probably finding the right balance between spending time doing administrative work, doing phone screens and interviews, as well as communicating with as many people from the teams across the company as possible. I am still learning.
What’s your hidden talent?
Acting 😊 I have played in several productions as a hobby, and also had my own radio show back at Uni. I love embodying different characters – the more different from me, the better, especially comic or absurd ones. It just brings emotional freedom and is a good vent for creative energies 😛
What’s your top tips for tourists visiting Sofia?
Firstly, go to goguide.bg for some great tips into the cultural life of Sofia, it’s quite rich and can offer something for everyone – from fancy-schmancy restaurants and cocktail bars to more hipster locations, which are my personal preference!
And by all means, try and get outside of Sofia as well – our mountains and seaside will certainly impress you, we like to call Bulgaria a heaven on earth and our scenery is the reason for this.
When you’re not at Tide, what’s your favourite thing to do?
No surprise here – spending time with loved ones, travelling, movies, yoga, hiking, reading. Travelling is probably my favourite thing in the world, it makes me feel like a part of the bigger picture 🌍
