Meet Sarah, our PR & Communications Manager
Our Marketing team is at the heart of helping Tide grow. This team includes performance marketing, Community, Partnerships, Communications and PR. We’d love for you to meet the people behind the Marketing team – so here’s our PR and Communications Manager: Sarah
👋 Hey Sarah! Please introduce yourself in a sentence.
Hi, I’m Sarah! I grew up on the South East coast of England, in the depths of the Sussex countryside, and have now been living in London for 5 years. I look after PR & Communications here at Tide, making sure everyone inside and outside of Tide knows what we’re up to.
What’s your background?
After graduating from Liverpool University with a degree in History, I started my career at a PR and communications agency. I advised lots of fascinating financial services companies on their communications strategies, as well as helping them overcome crisis. That’s where my love of FinTech developed ❤️
How did you cross paths with Tide?
When I was looking for a new role I wanted to be able to throw myself into building the profile of a business from the ground up.
I came across the role at Tide by chance and it ticked every single box for me – it’s a brilliant product that really helps people. It’s a start-up meaning there’s loads of opportunity to have a direct impact on the business, and it’s in the super exciting FinTech industry. Tide couldn’t be more perfect for me!
What’s your typical working day?
I tend to wake up around 6am and head to the gym, I then grab a much needed coffee and breakfast, catch up on the day’s news 📰 and get into the office around 9.
From then on, every day is totally different. I meet with people across the business to hear about new products and services they’re working on, I create content for the website, develop stories for the media, meet with journalists to tell them all about Tide, and much much more. It’s pretty varied!
What’s your favourite Tide feature?
The auto categorisation of expenses, it’s useful for me to see where I’m spending my money (or not!) and from conversations with our members, this is extremely useful for business owners.
What’s the most interesting communications challenge you’ve come across since you joined Tide?
Coming in to set up the PR & Communications function at Tide has certainly been a very interesting challenge, without anything existing to work from I have been able to set my own strategy and identify my own priorities.
What are you most looking forward to this year?
At Tide I’m really excited about all the new products and features that are coming up. Watch this space!
Personally, I’m looking forward to my trip to Brazil 🇧🇷!
What’s your hidden talent?
I can recite pretty much every episode of Peep Show.
When you’re not at Tide, what’s your favourite thing to do?
✈️ Travelling is my absolute favourite thing to do. But as I can’t do that everyday, I’d say hanging out with my mini Daschund in the parks of South East London.
