Meet Valentine, our Head of Community
Our Marketing team is at the heart of helping Tide grow. Voice of Tide to our members – this team includes performance and product marketing, Community and Partnerships. We’d love for you to meet the people behind the Marketing team – so here’s our Head of Community, Valentine
👋Hey Val! Introduce yourself in a sentence.
Hello! I’m Val, former Parisian now-confirmed cliche Londoner (I cycle to work, I’m fuelled by flat whites and I live around Shoreditch).
What’s your background?
I’ve always worked with start-ups and small businesses. Before joining Tide, I managed a community at a coworking space for start-ups. I’m deeply passionate about entrepreneurship, and have so much admiration for people who bet everything on their idea to start their own companies.
What made you want to join Tide?
Our mission! Helping small business owners spend more time growing their companies is something I think more start-ups should focus on. I was also extremely excited about creating a community of innovators, creators and entrepreneurs. Meeting our members across the UK to hear their stories is one of my favourite things to do at Tide! Go and have a read here.
What’s your typical working day?
I spend most of my day planning our content, speaking to our members and organising our events.
What are you most excited for 2019 at Tide?
I think we’re only just getting started. We’re really ambitious about our growth, so I’m excited to welcome aboard and meet all of our new members. I’ve been at Tide for almost 2 years now, and the journey has been a rollercoaster ride. I’m looking forward to coming up with new plans and ideas, and seeing where they’ll take us.
Favourite desk snack?
Pancakes and cereal from the kitchen! Ash, our office manager, is always making sure we have an amazing selection of those.
What’s your hidden talent?
I don’t truly believe it’s a talent, but I sing. My only true talent is that I’m unbelievably clumsy yet I’ve never broken anything… touch wood! ?
I also tend to reinvent expressions… my colleagues enjoy that a lot.
When you’re not at Tide, what’s your favourite thing to do?
I love taking arts and crafts classes. So far I’ve made pots, mugs, rings…
