The Onboarding and Business Development team are responsible for supporting members when they create their Tide account to provide them with the best onboarding experience. We’d love to introduce you to the team so here’s Mo, our Onboarding and Business Development Lead.
👋 Hi Mo, it’s great to speak to you today! Can you please introduce yourself in a sentence?
Hi, I’m Mo, I’m the Onboarding and Business Development Lead here at Tide. I’m responsible for leading the team that supports members when they create their Tide account to provide them with the best onboarding experience and help more business owners across the UK save time and money.
You joined the team in August 2019, how did you cross paths with Tide?
Initially, I started as a contractor and joined Tide’s KYC team as an Analyst. As all contractors, you do your time and leave. However, once I started, it became too hard to leave such an awesome place to work… So almost 3 years later I’m here and have found myself working in different positions, with amazing people along the way 🚀
And we’re so glad you stayed! ✨ How would you explain your role to someone who isn’t familiar with your area?
We are data driven, so, my role involves me planning and organising data to scale up our business and optimise processes. This allows us to make our members’ onboarding experience better and enables my team to carry out their tasks efficiently.
Now that you have been at Tide for almost 3 years, how has your team evolved?
I started the Onboarding Team in September 2019 with 4 team members. Now, I also lead a Business Development Team, and we are more than 25 across two countries!

Hard-working, Dedicated, Motivated!
What’s your favourite part of your role?
People’s currency – my favourite part of this job would have to be my colleagues that I work with; Robin, Samie and Millie and the people here at Tide. We have such an amazing bond and work effortlessly together as a management team. I feel incredibly valued and this to me is priceless!
Tide has a great inclusive culture, and this just allows me to be the best version of myself.
What’s something that happened recently at Tide that made you smile? 😊
We recently had an office refurbishment, so we now have a dedicated game and gym area with table tennis, video game consoles, a VR set, a treadmill and lots more. I’m hoping the gym will help me shed some of that Covid weight, wish me luck! 🏋🏾
You have a lot of experience, what’s the best piece of career advice you have received?
Our team mantra is to work smarter, not harder 🧠. I was once given some advice, which has stayed with me to this day and I always make sure to share this with those close to me.
“Be the best at doing nothing!” – This translates into being the best at what you do, so that everything is working well, without you having to do much. It just means that when passionately done, hard work looks effortless and shows amazing results.
Last question before you go! When you’re not at Tide, what’s your favourite thing to do?
Spending time with my family. They mean the world to me!
But when I’m not spending time with them, I’m watching the Last Kingdom – Destiny is all #Uhtred
