Q: How much do Expense Cards cost?

Tide Expense Cards, our company expenses cards , are £5+VAT per calendar month. You’ll be charged £5+VAT per month for every Expense Card you’ve ordered (whether you activate it or not). The fee is taken automatically from your Tide account on the fourth of each month. Depending on your membership, you could get one or more Expense Cards for free. On Plus you’ll get 1 free, on Pro you’ll get 2 free and on Cashback or Premium, you’ll get 3 free. Please see our Tide Terms for full details.

How many Expense Cards can I apply for?

You can order company expense cards for up to 50 team members per account.

If you have your Tide Expense Cards linked to sub-accounts, these count towards the overall account maximum of 50.

If you have more than one Tide account, you can have a maximum of 50 Expense Cards for each account.

Question 4

How do I order Tide Expense Cards?

You can order Tide Expense Cards through your Tide app by going to the 'Payments' tab and tapping 'Cards' > 'Team Expense Cards'. Here you can enter your chosen team member's details and select the account you want the Expense Card to be linked to. If your team member passes our security checks, we'll deliver your Expense Card to your registered address within a week. Anyone with a Tide account is eligible for Expense Cards, and you can have up to 50 Expense Cards per main account.

Does my team have to use the Expenses app?

No – however, we recommend that they do. From July 2023, in order for your team to make online purchases of £30 or more, they’ll need to download the Expenses app.

Will my team be able to spend more with the Expenses app?

Accepted Answer

No – they’ll still only be able to spend within the monthly spend limit you’ve set.

Question 7

With the Expenses app, will my team get access to my bank account and be able to see all my data?

Accepted Answer

No – your team will only be able to view their own transactions, spend limit and receipts.

Can I order an Expense Card for myself?

Tide Expense Cards are intended for your team members. For any business purchases you’d like to make yourself, you can use the Tide card you received when you opened an account with us.

Question 9

Can my staff view their expenses?

Accepted Answer

Yes, your team members can view their own transactions and add receipts for any business purchases they make with their Expense Card.

To take full advantage of this feature, invite your team members to the Tide Expenses app.

Open the drop-down menu in the top right corner of your Tide app
Tap Go to settings
Tap Manage team
Tap the relevant team member’s name
Tap Grant access

Then, we’ll email your team member with an invitation to register and download the Expenses app.
