About You

At Tide we are looking for a Complex Investigation Team Lead with specific experience in conducting in-depth investigations for all Financial Crime categories. The role is to ensure Tide has the correct knowledge and experience in its Financial Crime team to conduct complex investigations related to multiple risks.  

The role will manage a small team (5-8) of Senior Analysts who will be responsible for conducting in depth “complex” investigations. This role will be based in Tide's second line of defence (2LOD) reporting directly to the Head of Financial Crime Risk. 

The Complex Investigations Team Lead must be aware of all Financial Crime risks (beyond fraud and money laundering) and have experience in identifying, investigating and preventing such risks. They must be hands on and able to support investigations where needed. They will work closely with internal stakeholders/forums such as the Financial Crime Risk Working Group and oversight teams, and external stakeholders such as banking partners and industry forums, to share information and findings. Where gaps are found, it is the responsibility of the Team Lead to suggest controls to improve and remove such gaps. The Team Lead will also be responsible for the development and growth of the complex investigations team and work with all analysts in order to enhance their understanding and ability to work on complex financial crime risks. 

Some of the things you’ll be doing:

  • Complex investigations into Tides members.
  • Identifying gaps Tide has in relation to financial crime controls to identify, investigate and prevent financial crime.
  • Supporting the complex investigations team with high priority investigations. 
  • Supporting team development for all analysts within the Complex Investigations Team 
  • Presenting key findings and information to both internal and external stakeholders  
  • Demonstrate 2LOD oversight of 1LOD process related to all Financial Crime risks

You’ll be a great fit if:

  • 5+ years of Financial Crime experience
  • Specifically working in an 2LOD team in related to investigations 
  • Experience in managing teams 
  • Understanding of key financial crime risk indicators and metrics
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills in English
  • Must be self-motivator and self-starter
  • Focus on regulations and risks Tide would face. 
  • Exceptional listening and analytical skills
  • Ability to multitask and successfully operate in a fast paced, team environment
  • Must adapt well to change and successfully set and adjust priorities as needed
