About You:

As our new Financial Controller you’ll report to the Group Financial Controller and be responsible for the financial reporting and controllership of the legal entities within the Tide Group. You will be responsible for the accuracy of Tide’s financial and regulatory reporting, manage both internal and external reporting, as well as build out the legal entity control function. 

It’s exciting times here at Tide, we are scaling and developing our product offering at a phenomenal rate and have made our first step into our ambitious plans towards international expansion with our move into the Indian SME marketplace. We need someone to be proactive, take initiative and build out best in class financial reporting processes and procedures. 

Some of the things you’ll be doing:

  • Ensuring timely and accurate reporting of monthly P&L, balance sheet and cash flow, annual financial statements and regulatory reporting
  • Ensuring proper books and records for all financial transactions
  • Responsible for the monthly ledger close, cost accounting and accounts payable function
  • Working on the Group consolidation, intercompany balance reconciliation, reviewing month end transactions and working files 
  • Reviewing the month end P&L and balance sheet, challenging month on month movements and providing variance analysis 
  • Building out balance sheet substantiation procedures and monthly reconciliations
  • Maintaining best practice documentation of accounting policy and papers for material transactions 
  • Managing relationships with external auditors, tax advisors and outsourced accounting providers, including for regional offices in Bulgaria and India
  • Collaborating with other departments on tax and accounting matters 
  • Collate financial data for the preparation of corporation tax and VAT returns, ensuring compliance with tax legislation 
  • Building robust financial control processes and strengthening internal control framework
  • Identifying opportunities to streamline and improve accounting processes, operations and systems

You’ll be a great fit if:

  • You hold a professional finance qualification (ACA preferred)
  • Newly qualified or 1-2 years PQE
  • You have strong financial acumen and excellent technical accounting skills. Familiar with accounting standard and disclosure requirements under UK GAAP and/or IFRS
  • You are experienced in dealing with the statutory audit of financial services company
  • You are confident dealing with senior stakeholders across the business and owning your work with minimal hands-on management
  • You have meticulous attention to detail
  • You have exceptional organisational skills
  • You have a curious mind and high level of problem solving capability
  • You are analytical and data driven 
  • You are motivated by making a difference and getting things done
  • You would like to work in a fast-paced, startup environment
  • Your are personable and able to build strong working relationships

A note on the future of work at Tide:

Tide’s offices are beginning to open for Tideans to return on a voluntary basis. Timelines for reopening will be unique for each region and will be based on region-specific guidelines. The health and well-being of Tideans and candidates is our primary concern, therefore, for the foreseeable future, we have transitioned all interviews and onboarding to be conducted via Zoom.

Once offices are fully open, Tideans will be able to choose to work from the office or remotely, with the requirement that they visit the office or participate in face-to-face team activities several times per month.
