ABOUT THE TEAM

The Member Engagement Marketing (MEM) Copy team writes and reviews copy for the wider marketing department and beyond. Our focus is helping the members who have already joined us learn more about our products, features and ways to make the most of their Tide account.

ABOUT THE ROLE

After our success in the UK and India, Tide launched in Germany in May 2024. Now we’re excited to be growing our roster of German content writers to help us communicate our products and services to SMEs in Germany. This role will sit within our established UK/Europe copy team within Member Engagement Marketing, but will have links with our already growing network of German writers around the business.

As our German Copywriter, you’ll be:

  • Native or fluent in German – applications without this key requirement won’t be considered
  • Strong English skills, both written and verbal – our business language is English, though this role requires you to write in German
  • Understanding what a good brief looks like and answering it with high-quality copy that drives product engagement
  • Strong translation skills for localising existing UK copy into DE, and able to explain your copy choices
  • Jargon busting! Turning technical information into simple, compelling messaging and content
  • Creative copywriting across multiple formats, including email, mobile notifications, social media, blog posts, landing pages and more
  • Passionate about customer experience, with a focus on delivering the best, most engaging content for SMEs
  • Reviewing, amending and approving existing German content, including the work of other writers. You’ll be a source of support and guidance for more junior writers both in the team and around the business
  • Collaborating with multiple teams to deliver Tide’s overarching content strategy in Germany
  • Confident in communicating with various stakeholders to provide updates on projects

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Excellent communication and copywriting skills. As this is a midweight role, we’d expect you’ve been in a copy or content writing role for 2+ years
  • Strong proofreading and editing skills; you’re known for your attention to detail and impeccable spelling and grammar
  • You’re passionate about problem-solving and suggesting new initiatives to improve ways of working
  • You’re knowledgeable about the SME sector in Germany, including industry trends and competition
  • You’re self-assured, driven, able to make decisions and take responsibility for them
  • You have experience of working with a Style Guide or Tone of Voice guide and understand why this is important
  • You have excellent planning, organisational and time management skills
  • You have experience with Jira, Typeform, WordPress, Contentful or any CMS tools
  • You have experience of working with a CRM team as stakeholders or colleagues
  • You may also have experience in finance, a start-up or fast growing company
