How to style your website with Own Website

If you've already built your website, you can now use the Own Website tool to easily style it. Scroll down and learn how to:

  • Add your logo

  • Choose styles

  • Customise colours, fonts, and sections to match your brand

Personalise your website

Add your logo

  1. Click on your company name in the header

  2. Then click on Logo > Upload logo > Adjust size

  3. Save the changes and you're ready

  4. Your logo will show at the top of the page

Add your Favicon

A favicon is the small icon displayed next to a website’s name in a browser tab.

  1. Convert your logo to an .ico file format

  2. Open Site settings

  3. Select Favicon

  4. Drag and drop your ICO file into the upload area, or select Choose an image to upload the file from your computer

Watch how to apply a style

Use the Styles Gallery for preset combinations of colours, fonts and button shapes.

  1. In the top bar, click on Design > Change style

  2. Slide through the available styles

  3. Select the one you prefer, and click Done

Use specific brand colours

  1. In the top bar, click on Design > Edit design > Colours

  2. Choose from preset colour combinations or use the colour picker to customise

Change your website's fonts

  1. In the top bar, click on Design > Edit design > Fonts

  2. Select the font you like – from preset options or create your own font pairings from the Custom tab

  3. Save the changes

Set a new header style

The headings on your website will follow the style you set here, helping to create a more cohesive and polished design.

  1. In the top bar, click on Design > Edit design > Headers

  2. Select the header style you like

  3. Save the changes

Style your sections: Appearance options

Sections are pre-designed content rows containing widgets like text and images.

Access the Appearance button

  1. Hover over the section you want to customise

  2. The Appearance button will appear on the left - click on it to view your styling options

Change the Appearance settings

When you click the Appearance button you can:

  • Select a section's colour: Easily update the background using the colour swatches – text colour will adapt automatically to ensure legibility

  • Add a gradient colour: Apply background that smoothly blends two or more colours for a more stylish look

  • Use shape dividers: Add stylish section breaks at the bottom of one or more sections, and customise their colours to match your branding

  • Add a touch of motion: Use fade or slide animations to reveal sections as visitors scroll down your website

Stylе your sections: Layout options

The Layout options let you control how the different parts of your page look together.

Access the Layout options

  1. Hover over the section you want to edit and you'll see the Layout button on the left

  2. Click it to view available layout options and select the one you prefer

Change the Layout Settings

  1. Click on Layout > Change Layout

  2. Choose the settings you'd like to change

These include:

  • Change the layout: Browse the available options and select the one you prefer

  • Adjust the height: Control the space above and below your content

  • Adjust the width: Set how wide the content area should be

Once you're happy with the changes, click Done and you're all set.

Create a redirect

A redirect automatically sends visitors from one URL to another.

  1. Click Settings > under Advanced Settings, select Redirects

  2. Click the + button to create a new redirect

  3. In the From field, enter the old URL path you want to redirect from

  4. In the To field, select an existing page on your site or enter an external URL

  5. Choose either a 301 Permanent or 302 Temporary redirect

  6. Click Save

Use Precision Layout

Precision layout sections include a flexible grid system that allows you to position and arrange widgets more freely.

Add a Precision Layout section

  1. Click Add content

  2. From the dropdown menu, select Add content again

  3. Click on the section and tap + Add Content here

  4. From the layouts panel, click Precision

  5. Choose the layout that best suits your needs

Customise content with Precision Layout

Within your new sections, you can:

  • Resize elements – click on a widget and drag the resize handles to adjust its size within the grid

  • Layer content – place text over image, positiong images over backgrounds, bring widgets forward, and more

  • Edit the mobile layout separately from desktop – click Edit mobile layout to adjust widget positioning specifically for mobile devices
