Referral Terms and Conditions for Bank Account Members

  1. The term “Referrer” shall apply to existing Tide members who received a promotional offer to invite others to join Tide (“Referral”).
  2. The term “Referee” shall apply to a person invited by a Referrer using their personal referral code, to join Tide.
  3. Eligible Referrers are Tide members, who
    1. have an existing account with us;
    2. have a referral code assigned to them; and
    3. hold an active Tide membership and be compliant with all applicable standard terms and conditions for Tide accounts (“Tide Terms”) until receiving the Reward under this Offer pursuant to clause 7 below
  4. The Referrer is required to provide the Referee with the unique code communicated by Tide to the Referrer via the in-app messaging service, or via email from Tide or from within the Tide app.
  5. If a Referee is invited by more than one Referrer to Tide, any rewards will be given to the Referrer whose code was used by the Referee.
  6. In order for the Referral to be “successful”, the Referee is required to:
      1. not have an existing account with Tide;
      2. not be the same person as the Referrer;
      3. meet eligibility requirements for signing up for a Tide account;
      4. complete all necessary steps to sign up for a Tide account;
      5. be approved to open a Tide account with the information you provide;
      6. enter the referral code 
          1. while signing up on https://web.tide.co/sign-up/
          2. through the app, or 
          3. by letting us know through the in-app chat within 1 week of opening their account
      7. successfully open an account;
      8. make valid card transactions to the value of £500 within three months of account opening, excluding any disputes and recharges; and
      9. hold an active Tide membership and be compliant with all applicable standard terms and conditions for Tide accounts (“Tide Terms”) until receiving the Reward under this Offer pursuant to clause 7 below
  7. For each “successful” Referral, a £50 cashback “Reward” will be applied to the Referrer’s existing account and the Referee’s new account (“Offer”). It can take 6-8 weeks for this to be validated and the reward to be transferred.
  8. We reserve the right to open a Tide Membership Account for the Referee only after the Referee has passed our KYC checks as per the Tide Membership T&Cs. Tide shall not be required to provide any reason or be held responsible that any applicant has not been approved for a Tide account by the closing date of the Offer.
  9. A Referrer must use the Offer as intended by Tide and must not use their referral code as a means to generate income or business.
  10. We reserve the right to reverse any cashback reward you receive during this Offer if (i) the Offer was earned fraudulently or (ii) it is found that you have breached the Terms or the Tide Terms in relation to holding a Tide account.
  11. If we have reasonable grounds to believe that you have engaged in any fraud or material abuse of this Offer (such as for example attempting to deliberately mislead Tide Member Support to gain the Offer) we may in our sole discretion take any actions we see fit in the circumstances.
  12. We encourage participants to check these terms regularly as we reserve the right to amend the Referral Scheme Terms and to withdraw the Referral Scheme at any time. Your continued use of our services shall constitute your acceptance of any such amendments.
  13. We reserve the right to modify or withdraw these Referral Scheme Terms and/or this Offer.
  14. This Offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other Tide offer or promotion in relation to the opening of a new Tide account.
