Why you may need to recover your account

Reinstalling the Tide app

If you uninstall and reinstall the Tide app, you may need to verify your identity again to securely access your account.

Switching to a new phone

If you change or lose your phone, you’ll need to recover your Tide account on your new device before logging in.

App or technical issues

In some cases, app updates, technical issues, or login errors may log you out automatically. If this happens, you may be asked to recover and verify your account again.

Step 1: Reinstall the Tide app

If you’re recovering your account on the same device, first uninstall your existing Tide app and then reinstall the latest version from the app store.

If you’ve switched to a new phone, you can directly install the Tide app on your new device and continue with account recovery.

To uninstall the app:

On iPhone: Press and hold the Tide app icon, then tap Remove App.

On Android: Open the Google Play Store > tap your profile icon > Manage apps & device > select the Tide app > Uninstall.

Download the latest version of the Tide app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.

Before installing, please make sure your device supports the latest app version and is updated to a compatible operating system version.

Step 3: Verify your account using OTP

Open the Tide app and tap on Login.

Enter your registered mobile number or email ID linked to your Tide account to receive a verification code.

If you choose mobile number verification:

  • Enter your registered mobile number

  • Tap Get OTP

  • Check your SMS inbox for the 6-digit verification code sent by Tide

  • Enter the OTP in the app to continue

If you no longer have access to your registered mobile number or email ID:

Please contact Tide Support through the app or reach out to our support team for further assistance.

Didn’t receive the OTP?

  • Check whether the mobile number displayed matches your registered number

  • Ensure your phone has an active network connection and can receive SMS messages

  • Check if SMS filtering or spam blocking settings are enabled on your device

  • Wait for a few minutes, as OTP delivery may sometimes get delayed

  • Tap on Resend OTP to request a new code

  • Restart your phone and try again

OTP expired?

For security reasons, OTPs are valid only for a limited time. If your code has expired, tap on Resend OTP to receive a new one.

Verify your account using email

If you choose email verification, tap on Login with email and enter your registered email ID linked to your Tide account.

You’ll receive a 6-digit verification code from Tide on your email.

Follow these steps:

  • Open your email inbox

  • Find the verification email from Tide

  • Copy the 6-digit code

  • Return to the Tide app

  • Enter the code in the verification screen to continue

Don’t have access to your registered email ID?

Please contact Tide Support through the app for help with account recovery and verification.

Didn’t receive the verification email?

  • Check your Spam, Junk, or Promotions folder for an email from Tide

  • Make sure you entered the correct registered email ID

  • Wait for a few minutes, as email delivery may sometimes be delayed

  • Tap on Resend Email to receive a new verification code

  • Check your internet connection and refresh your inbox

Verification code expired?

For security reasons, verification codes are valid only for a limited time.

  • Tap on Resend Email to generate a new code

  • Use the latest verification email received, as older codes may no longer work

To keep your Tide account secure, we’ll need to verify that it’s really you trying to log in.

Allow camera access

To complete verification, please allow the Tide app to access your phone’s camera:

  • Tap Enable Camera

  • Tap Allow

This access is used only for identity verification during the recovery process. Tide will not access any other photos, files, or personal data on your device.

Take a clear selfie

For successful verification:

  • Face the camera directly

  • Make sure your face and eyes are clearly visible

  • Remove sunglasses, masks, or anything covering your face

  • Ensure the lighting is clear and bright

Once your selfie is ready, tap Upload Photo to continue.

Selfie not accepted?

  • Make sure you’re in a well-lit area with clear lighting

  • Avoid dark backgrounds, harsh shadows, or bright light behind you

  • Look directly into the camera

  • Remove sunglasses, masks, caps, or anything covering your face

  • Hold your phone steady and ensure the image is clear and not blurry

Selfie not matching?

  • Try taking the selfie again in better lighting or from a clearer angle

  • If your onboarding photo included glasses, try wearing them again during verification

  • Ensure your face is fully visible and matches your original verification photo as closely as possible

If you’re still unable to complete verification after multiple attempts, please contact Tide Support through the app for assistance.

Step 5: Access your account

Once your identity verification is submitted, our security checks will begin. This process may take some time to complete.

While verification is in progress, you’ll see a status screen in the app.

After your verification is successfully completed, you’ll be able to access and use your Tide account normally.

Verification still in progress?

If your verification status screen is still visible after some time, try closing and reopening the Tide app.

On iPhone:

Swipe up from the bottom of the screen and close the Tide app from your recent apps list.

On Android:

Go to Settings > Apps > Tide > Force Stop, then reopen the app.

After reopening the app, check your verification status again. In some cases, verification may take longer than expected to complete.

If the issue still continues after several hours, please contact Tide Support through the app for further assistance.
