How are payments made with Tap to Pay on iPhone processed?

We’ve partnered with Adyen to facilitate the collection and processing of payments from your customers when you use Tap to Pay on iPhone. When customers pay with Tap to Pay on iPhone, Adyen will hold the money in a payment processing account which we refer to as ‘Merchant Account’. Adyen uses the Merchant Account to collect and record the payments received by your customers via Tap to Pay before the funds are processed by Adyen and sent to your Tide Business Account. Adyen’s T&Cs apply to the Merchant Account and the processing of funds in it.

Apple doesn’t process the payments, and does not receive, hold or transfer your money. Therefore, they have no control over payments, refunds and returns of purchased items.
