With our Connected Account Management feature, you can connect your existing business current account from another bank to your Tide account, at no cost. And thanks to Open Banking, the process is safe, secure and simple.  From your sort code and account number to your account balance and transaction history – access everything you need from your Tide account.   1. Open your Tide app > Tap Accounts

  2.  Tap Connect other business accounts to Tide under the Explore more section

  3. Tap Connect your business account and then Next

  4. Select your bank and follow the steps

Who can you connect to?

You can connect your accounts to Tide if you bank with one of the trusted banking providers listed below. 
 Bank of Scotland, Barclays, Cashplus, HSBC UK, Lloyds, Monzo, Natwest, Revolut, Royal Bank of Scotland, Santander, Starling Bank, TSB Bank, Virgin Money, Wise, Mettle. We’ll be adding to this list, so keep checking back if your provider isn’t listed at the moment.

As this is a relatively new feature for Tide, the number of banks we are able to connect to is growing all the time. If your bank is not currently available, please try again soon.

If you are a Sole Trader or Registered Company with a business current account elsewhere you can connect to Tide. However, some of the features are only available to Registered Companies, for example, Business Loans. We are continuously adding new features.

You can currently connect your business current or savings account. You will need to be the account holder to connect your account.

If you decide you no longer wish to continue using Tide’s time and money-saving features, you can withdraw your consent to share your bank account at any time.

To stop sharing data via your bank - simply log into your online account or contact your bank directly.

Should you experience any problems in connecting your bank account to Tide, the best way to check whether everything is working correctly is to try to log in via your online banking (via your bank’s website, rather than mobile app). Once you have successfully logged in to online banking with your own provider, try once more to log in to Tide.

Do not make multiple attempts in a row otherwise your bank might block the account temporarily.

This information has been sent to us from your existing banking provider when you connected your account. If the information is incorrect, please contact your existing banking provider.

For now, the best experience is on mobile via the web browser. We do support access on some laptops, if they have strong authentication hardware, e.g. MacBook with a fingerprint reader, or computers with Windows Hello.

If you’re still having trouble on a device which does have a hardware authenticator, try using Safari on iOS or Chrome on all other platforms.

By providing your consent to link your business current account to Tide, you will be able to view the transaction history of your existing account on Tide’s platform. More importantly, you will gain access to some great Tide services that will help you to manage your money.

In order to connect your business current account to Tide, you will need to:

  1. Select your bank

  2. Give consent to connect your account

  3. Authenticate the connection

  4. Provide some basic information on yourself and your business eg. name, date of birth.

You can connect your business bank account very easily in just a few short steps by logging in to the Tide website. We use Open Banking to enable you to connect your account to Tide.

Step 1: Choose the bank account you would like to connect

Step 2: Give consent to connect your account

Step 3: Authenticate the account you would like to connect. We will link you to your banking provider in order to log in and automatically provide this authentication.

Step 4: Provide some basic details about yourself and your business

Step 5: You will have access!

Every 90 days, you will receive a notification asking to you provide your consent again. Without this, we won’t be able to display bank account information for your connected account. The process is both quick and simple and we will send you reminders, as well as information, on how to do this.

Yes! it is totally free to connect your existing business current account and start using our products and services. Where an additional fee applies to the use of any Tide Membership features or additional products and services we will specify this to you before you opt-in.

Yes, UK sole traders and registered companies with a business bank account can connect to view account details from another banking provider.

Our mission at Tide is to help small businesses save time and money. Using Open Banking, Tide’s Connected Account Management feature enables you to connect an existing business current account you hold with another bank to your Tide Platform Account, in just a few simple steps.

This will allow you to view your account details (including sort code and account number), account balance and transaction history for your connected account to Tide. You will also be able to access some of our smart features and products - all of this without having to open a current account with Tide.
