How to use Tap to Pay with Tide

Using your iPhone or Android, you can take contactless card payments from your customers in a single tap.

Here's how it works.

Take customers' payments

If your app is updated to the latest version, you'll already have access to Tap to Pay.

  1. Log in to your Tide app

  2. Tap Get paid > Tap to Pay

  3. Enter the amount you'd like to charge

  4. Tap Charge

  5. Ask your customer to tap their card on your device

Tap to Pay works with all major card types, such as Mastercard, Visa and American Express.

Share a receipt

When a payment is successful, you'll see a share receipt icon in the app.

Tap it to share by text message, email, Instagram or WhatsApp - or tap Copy Link to paste it anywhere else.

Make a refund

In your app, tap Get Paid > Tap to Pay > Manage > select the transaction > Request Customer Refund.

This will be processed in 5-7 business days.

You can get discounts on transaction fees with Tide's Sell In-Person subscription.

If you haven't already, you can explore our subscription options in your Tide app today.

Just tap the Profile icon in the top-left, then tap Profile & Settings > Membership > Tide Tools.
