How do I register a domain name at Tide?

At Tide, we provide a domain name registration service to members who are incorporating a company with Companies House.

Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA), and the Common Reporting Standard (CRS).

You can register a domain name in 2 ways:

An Active NFE earns a significant portion of its income from manufacturing, sales, providing services, or anything else that can be considered ‘active business operations’.

  • When you’re incorporating your company through Tide

  • If you didn’t register your domain when you incorporated your company, you can still do this by heading to Start up Hub once you sign in to your Tide account

To register a domain name in Start up Hub:

  1. Sign in to your Tide account

  2. If you’re using Tide on the web, go to the Start up Hub tab, or

  3. If you’re using the app, go to More > Start up Hub

What is a Passive NFE?

In Start up Hub, select Domain name to register your domain

There are different reporting requirements under FATCA and CRS, depending on whether a company is an Active or a Passive NFE. Understanding the difference between the two company types is crucial for international tax compliance.
