Meet Catherine, our Senior Product Manager
Hi Catherine 👋 It’s great to chat with you today! Could you please introduce yourself in a sentence?
Hey! I’m Catherine, I am a Senior Product Manager in our Member Engagement Marketing Team, looking after Global Subscriptions and Billing.
Tell us a bit more about what you were doing before Tide?
I’ve worked in the Product and Innovation space all my career, almost always in companies focused on startups as their customers. Before this, I’d worked on a range of products, from cybersecurity in Hong Kong to a B2C beauty booking startup based in London. I like travelling and have been lucky to do it with work. ✈️ I generally like big problem areas and how we can use technology in smart ways to solve those problems.
Wow, these are great experiences! You have been in the Member Engagement Marketing team for almost a year. What’s your favourite part of your role? 💡
I love seeing the impact of my role. Working on designing, developing and launching features that bring real value to our members so they can grow their businesses with us is really fulfilling.🚀 On the other hand, looking at our billing architecture and building it, so it scales with us as a business holds some great challenges.
Can you describe your team in three words?
Smart, ambitious and supportive.
You’ve recently coordinated the launch of our new Pro Plan – can you tell us more about it and why we created it?
We launched our Pro Plan that offers unlimited free transfers* because we saw a gap in the market for a product which takes away the stress of having to track payments and paying for different transfer types. We based it on feedback from members who were concerned with rising costs as their business scaled and so we wanted to remove that worry and save them money. Alongside this, we wanted to offer additional value and support to our members with expense cards to allow them to manage their team’s business spending and our other benefits, such as exclusive Tide member perks, a 24/7 legal helpline and priority support.
Wonderful! What’s been our members’ feedback so far?
We’ve had some great feedback after launching in Beta in late August! We even had a lot of members reaching out to our support team to upgrade to Pro before the plan was available to everyone in late September, so I’ve been very happy with the uptake so far.
That’s great! What are you most excited to see Tide build this year? 🚀
I’m really excited to see Tide start offering more incentives and rewards to our members, making being part of our community even more meaningful and personalised to our different members.
What’s the best thing about working at Tide? What’s your favourite benefit?
I’ve been lucky to have used a few of our benefits, including our volunteering days allowance, to take part in Ukrainian Humanitarian initiatives. My favourite, however, is our WOO policy,🌍💻 which my team joke that I use to its full advantage. Over the summer, I worked from Italy, Israel and the US, but my favourite remote working time was when I lived in Barcelona for a month which was lovely and sunny!
I think we all can add some of these destinations to our bucket list as well. One last question. When you’re not at Tide, what’s your favourite thing to do?
I’m normally running! I help organise a running community in London called Midnight Runners, which is a nice blend of fitness and social- from organising long trail runs to party runs that finish in craft breweries. Outside of this, I enjoy wine bars and yoga. 🏃♀️🍷🧘
