Here at Tide, our members are front and centre of everything we do, and our Member Spotlight series is no different! In this series, we share a little bit more about some of our brilliant members.
Today, we introduce you to Monisola! Monisola is the founder of Saintsville, a brand designed that combines wellness and style to help women look good, and feel good.
Hi Monisola, can you tell us a little bit about your business and why you started?
I grew up in a very creative household. My mum was an interior decorator, and my dad also had a great sense of style, so that environment naturally shaped my love for fashion, style, and beauty. The original idea for the headbands actually came from my mum, and I built on that foundation.
Saintsville was also born out of a personal challenge. I was experiencing difficulties with my hair, which affected my confidence, and I began looking for ways to feel put together and elegant even when my hair wasn’t at its best. Headbands became a simple but powerful solution – they helped me feel confident, polished, and more like myself. From there, Saintsville naturally grew into a brand centred on confidence, care, and beauty with meaning.
What makes your pieces unique and different?
Each piece tells a story. Our designs are thoughtful and intentional, created to make women feel good, seen, and confident – not just accessorised.
Could you share what your design process is like? Do you take inspiration from anywhere?
The design process is a blend of individual creativity and collaboration. Some ideas come directly from me, while others are shaped through conversations with the team – exploring what works, which accessories feel right, and which fabrics best bring the idea to life.
Inspiration comes from different parts of who I am. Faith plays an important role, so biblical themes often influence the meaning and naming of designs. I studied French and Spanish at university, which is why some pieces are given French or Spanish names. My Nigerian roots are also central to the brand – we’ve recently created pieces using Nigerian textiles and given them Yoruba names to honour that heritage.
Do you have a favourite piece you’ve created so far, and why?
Rather than a single piece, it would be the Gloire et Beauté collection, which includes the Rennie Headband in pink – one of my favourite colours.
This collection was inspired by reading about the glory and beauty of priestly garments in the Bible. The starting point was a very real, everyday moment – I wanted a specific colour headband to match a dress for a wedding. I took my daughter’s headband, removed an appliqué from another piece, and hand-stitched it on. It wasn’t perfect, but that handmade prototype was what I shared with the team.
From there, the idea evolved into the Gloire et Beauté collection. Over time, we refined the designs, adjusting details like the width of the band and adding rhinestones to elevate the finish. It’s a favourite because it began with instinct and necessity, and grew through creativity, meaning, and refinement.
What have been some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced while growing Saintsville?
One of the biggest challenges has been when suppliers go out of business, which forces you to adapt quickly and find new sources of materials that don’t always align perfectly with your original vision. It’s taught me flexibility and resilience.
How has Tide helped your business journey and what’s your favourite feature?
Tide has made it easy to stay on top of the business. The platform is straightforward and user-friendly, which allows me to focus more on the creative and strategic side of what I do.
What’s one tip you would give to someone looking to start their own business?
Have a learning mindset. Stay curious and actively connect with networks where you can continue learning – both within your niche and about business as a whole.
What’s next for Saintsville – any exciting plans you can share?
We’ve recently rebranded! Saintsville began as a fashion accessories brand, but we’re now realigning as a wellness brand focused on supporting women.
At our core, we’ve always been about helping women feel good and look good, and now we’re expanding how we do that. At the end of last year, I launched Accessorise with Confidence, a confidence and wellbeing workshop that helps women feel more like themselves and show up with confidence during times of change, using personal style as a simple and practical tool. I’m now focused on delivering this workshop on more stages, at conferences, and within organisations.
Alongside this, we continue to develop our product offering, including handcrafted headbands and other feel-good products currently in the pipeline.
We're also launching Soothe with Saintsville, on May 9. It’s a half‑day wellness experience, created for women who need space to pause, recharge, and reconnect.
At its heart, Saintsville has always been, and will continue to be, about confidence, care, and beauty with meaning.
