Sell In-Person (buy device)

Take payments with your own Tide Card Reader or Tap to Pay on iPhone.

Monthly subscription fee: £12.99 +VAT

If you don’t have a Tide Card Reader, with Sell In Person you can purchase one for £99 + VAT, or a Tide Card Reader Plus – for £119 + VAT

Sell In-Person (rent device)

Take payments with a rented Tide Card Reader, or with Tap to Pay on iPhone.

Monthly subscription fee: £24.99 +VAT

Instead of buying a Tide Card Reader Plus, you can rent one under a commitment of 12 months minimum usage. You’ll only see this option in the app, if you’re running an eligible Registered Business

The card reader remains the property of Tide while you take advantage of the reduced payment fees

If you already own a Card Reader, and you then sign up for a rental device, we’ll send you a Card Reader Plus. You can keep using your old device alongside your new rental one, and as a bonus, the Sell In-Person reduced fees will apply to both machines

Diners and Discovery payments (all cards) – 3.5 % + 9p (normally 3.8% + 9p)

Pay by Bank transaction fees

1% but no more than £5 per transaction for payments accepted via Pay by Bank. The payment fee for Pay by Bank is normally 1.50%, but no more than £15 per transaction.

Next Day Settlement Boost

Card payments take up to 3 business days to arrive, but with this Next Day Settlement Boost, it’ll be the next business day.

Monthly subscription fee: £2.99 +VAT

Only payments accepted after you subscribe will arrive on the next business day – so that’s Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays

To subscribe in-app:

Tap Profile > Profile & Settings > Memberships

Then select Boosts > Next Day Settlement Boost

Get a Sell and Scale tool

When you've found the tool that works best for your business and want to subscribe:

Open your app and tap: Profile > Profile & Settings > Memberships

Then tap: Toolkits > Sell and Scale

Select your tool and continue from there

Our billing cycle runs from the 1st to the last day of each month, with subscription fees collected on the 4th.

When you subscribe, you’ll be charged a pro-rated amount for the remaining days of the month. From the next billing cycle onward, we’ll charge the full monthly price of the Sale and Scale tools you’re using, on the 4th.

Need to cancel?

If you want to cancel your subscription or switch between tools:

Open your app and tap: The Profile icon > Profile & Settings > Memberships

Then Select the tool you'd like to cancel > Manage subscription

When you cancel your subscription on or after the 1st of the month, you’ll still be charged for that month. The cancellation will become effective at the beginning of the following month.

💡Important about cancelling Sell In-Person (rent device)

If you cancel after the 12 months minimum commitment period:

You must return the device to us. You can keep using your original device, but if you’re not subscribed to one of the other Sell and Scale Toolkit options, we’ll start charging our standard Pay as You Go fees.

If you cancel at any time before 12 months have passed:

You must return the device to us. We’ll charge you the monthly fees for the remainder of this period, plus a one-off £50 cancellation fee.

In both scenarios above, but without returning the rented card reader – if you continue taking payments with it, you’ll keep paying £24.99 +VAT per month, as well as 6% + 20p per transaction on any of your Tide Card Readers.

If you don’t return the rented Card Reader to us:
