How to let your customers pay your invoices securely with a bank card or from their banking app

Tide Payment Links

Payment Links can be added to any of your Tide invoices charging £5 or more, or to your messages and emails.

Your customers will receive a clickable link, which they can use to pay you immediately and securely.

Add Payment Links to your account

To add Payment Links to your account, first sign up in the Tide app.

Go to the 'Get paid' tab, and tap 'Create an invoice' > 'Add customer' > 'Add items' > 'Learn more'. Then follow the onscreen instructions.

Start using Payment Links

In your invoices

Go to the 'Get Paid' tab and tap 'Create invoice' > 'Add customer' > 'Add items' > 'Turn on Payment Links'.

Once added, you’ll receive a notification each time you get paid. You can turn Payment Links on or off by tapping the ‘Payment Link’ switch on any invoice.

Through email or messaging

You can send Payment Links on their own too. We call these 'Standalone Payment Links', and you can share them via email, WhatsApp, or text.

To create a standalone Payment Link that you can copy and paste into your messages, go to the 'Get Paid' tab, then tap 'Send Payment Links'.

Pay by Bank

If you've sent your customers a Tide Payment Link, they can either pay this by card or via Pay by Bank.

Pay by Bank takes your customers directly to their UK banking app to make the secure payment instead.

Start using Pay by Bank

There's no extra steps to ensure your customers see this. Whenever you send a payment link, they'll be given both the 'Pay by bank transfer' and 'Credit / Debit Card' options to pay you.

Transactions are usually processed instantly, and directly into your Tide Business Account. For now, you can’t receive international payments.

Tide Instant Checkout

Instant Checkout links guide your customers to a web page which contains the products or services you offer, and the option to purchase them by card.

They can be shared repeatedly, and you can add them to your business website, social media, or send them directly to your customers.

Add Instant Checkout to your account

To add Instant checkout to your account, go to the 'Get Paid' tab in your Tide app.

From here, tap 'Get paid' > 'Sell items online' > Accept the T&C's.

Start using Instant Checkout

To start using Instant Checkout links in your Tide app, go to the 'Get paid' tab.

From here, tap 'Sell items online' > 'Start selling' > 'Add new item' > 'Share checkout link'.

To view your links or turn them off when a product or service sells out or becomes unavailable, tap 'Tools & Services' > 'Payment Links'.
