Meet Caroline, our Senior SEO Copywriter

Tide’s SEO or Search Engine Optimisation team look after the product pages and small business tips content on the Tide website. In addition to creating clear and engaging content to help Tide’s mission of supporting small businesses, they also harness the power of SEO to ensure that our pages and blog posts answer all the questions the Tide community may have, as well as being easy to search for. We’d love to introduce you to the team, so here’s Caroline, our Senior SEO Copywriter.
👋 Hi Caroline!! It’s great to chat with you today, could you please introduce yourself in a sentence?
Hi there! I am a Senior SEO Copywriter, in Tide’s Accession Marketing team. I am responsible for creating engaging content to help small business owners and educate Tide members, as well as potential Tide members on how our features can help them manage their businesses.
You have been at Tide for almost 2 years, what’s your favourite part of your role?
Definitely the variety! I get the opportunity to work on all sorts of different copy types – from optimised landing pages, to blog posts, short-form copy, emails, the odd social media caption and even some corporate communications. I also very much enjoy the analytical and technical side of SEO, as well as improving my coding skills by being able to build my own web pages. 💻 🌐
One of the most rewarding parts of the role is that I get to support and mentor other Tideans with their writing skills too.🫶
This all sounds really exciting! Let’s chat more about your team, can you describe it in three words?
Complementary (we all have different skill sets which work well together), curious (we’re always researching to find new SEO trends and ideas), and growing! We’re currently looking to swell our numbers by hiring a new SEO Copywriter! 👉 Learn more here to join our team: https://www.tide.co/careers/seo-copywriter-5143492003/

What’s the best thing about working at Tide?
Apart from the 3 days of paid leave per year for learning and development and/or volunteering, I’m a big fan of the personal learning budget. I’ve recently purchased a languages learning app, which I’m using to learn German (plus keep my other language skills fresh!).
Wunderbar 🤩 And what are you most looking forward to this year at Tide?
Tide has a packed roadmap for new product development to continue helping our members spend less time on their business admin so I’m relishing the opportunity to work with the different product teams to help shape the new content ahead of their launches.🚀
I’m also collaborating closely with our Partnerships team to showcase how we’re working together with different partners to help small businesses. I’ve just published the first blog article in a series of new content.
What’s your favourite Tide feature?
I’m a big fan of Cashflow Insights**. I think the way it is able to provide business forecasts on the go for small businesses, as well as recommendations for actions they can take to keep their finances healthy is an invaluable feature. This is particularly true at the moment when the cost of living increases are really hitting the self-employed hard.
Speaking about our members, tell us about a link you have with small businesses 💙
Outside of work, I love to volunteer and help to organise large-scale community events that support both local charities and small businesses. You can read more about my volunteering exploits and how my community Christmas lantern parade supports local businesses in this blog post I wrote last year. ✍️
That’s fantastic! Speaking a bit more about your career, what advice would you give someone who wants to switch careers or learn new skills as you did?

Go for it! 😊 My path into copywriting and digital marketing has perhaps been less conventional than most, as I worked in a commercial role in international procurement for nearly 15 years. Following 2 cancer scares, I decided to overhaul my life and pursue a career in something I had been doing previously in a voluntary capacity. Fast forward a few years, and I’m now Tide’s Senior SEO Copywriter! It’s been a steep learning curve, but it’s never too late to learn new skills and you just need to keep an open mind, as well as ask LOTS of questions!
One last question before you go! When you’re not at Tide, what’s your favourite thing to do?
Apart from volunteering, I refer to myself as a languages nerd (my degree is in French and Spanish). I love to pass my passion for all things linguistic onto others through tutoring part-time. My student this year has just achieved a Grade 9 in his GCSE Spanish (equivalent to an A*) and I’m incredibly proud of him.
