What we’re looking for:

As our Accounts Payable Assistant, you will be responsible for the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable function of the Tide UK entities. We are looking for someone who is highly organised, detail oriented, diligent, and has excellent time-management skills. We need a supportive team player who is also able to take the initiative, be proactive and work autonomously through much of their workload. Having worked in a similar role in the past, they will be a self-starter and able to hit the ground running.

The right candidate must have a real interest in Accounting but be willing to get stuck into anything and be confident working with people from right across the business.

It’s exciting times here at Tide, we are scaling and developing our product offering at a phenomenal rate and have made our first step into our ambitious plans towards international expansion with our move into the Indian SME marketplace. We need someone to be proactive, take initiative and build out best in class financial reporting processes and procedures. 

As a Accounts Payable Officer you’ll be:

  • Responsible for the accuracy and completeness of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
  • Maintenance of the banking ledger in Xero, ensuring bank payments are reconciled to invoices and coded to the correct GL accounts
  • Reconcile bank accounts on a weekly basis  
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations
  • Prepare weekly supplier payment runs, ensuring invoices have received all internal approvals, are coded correctly and are paid within our payment terms
  • Reconcile supplier accounts and ensure payables ledger is up to date on a weekly basis
  • Provide remittance advice
  • Raise sales invoices and reconcile the sales ledger
  • Assist in the maintenance of the Fixed Asset register including depreciation
  • Assist with Prepayments and Accruals postings
  • Assisting with month end reporting
  • Support the Treasury function on operational cash flow forecasting
  • Assisting with year end financial audit requirements
  • Maintaining complete and accurate records
  • Maintain our Finance Mailbox; reply to internal stakeholders and supplier emails 
  • Building out reconciliations and controls to strengthen the internal control framework
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and improve accounting processes, operations and systems
  • Adhoc support tasks as required

What makes you a great fit:

  • Minimum 2 years experience within Accounts Payable 
  • Must have a least 2 years working with banking ledger entries and bank reconciliations
  • Currently studying either towards the ACCA/CIMA qualification – passed professional stage
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • You are confident dealing with senior stakeholders across the business and owning your work with minimal hands-on management
  • You have meticulous attention to detail
  • You have exceptional organisational skills
  • You are proactive and take the initiative
  • You are reliable and trustworthy
