Business Intelligence Analyst

About You

As part of this team, you will work closely with the business to use your talents as a business intelligence professional to help solve key business problems using data. You will also act as a data advocate and coach for the wider business in our mission to become a truly data-driven company by helping stakeholders to self-serve simple data requests. 

This role will suit an individual who is keen to help us work closely with business stakeholders and support them build operational reporting and use accurate data to improve their decision making. In addition to playing a key role in a Global team with the mission to help improve the decisions people at Tide make using data. Some key challenges will include supporting our stakeholder’s needs as the company expands its product solutions and geographical footprint, contributing to the operational excellence of self-serve reporting & supporting the business to become data driven whilst adapting to the company’s expansion.


Some of the things you’ll be doing: 

  • Developing SQL code to examine the data and solve key business problems
  • Creating reports to address our business requirements and improve our current processes.
  • Dealing with ambiguity & forming ambiguous questions into defined solutions to improve the business area
  • Training business stakeholders at all levels on creating their own dashboards and sharing analytics best practices 
  • Creating and delivering workshops on looker and data literacy to business stakeholders
  • Managing and resolving ad hoc Business Intelligence requests
  • Presenting data in a clear and easy to comprehend manner, using visualisation tools (Looker)
  • Working with Snowflake, dbt, git and Looker
  • Creating new data models 
  • Maintenance and development of existing dashboards and data models

You’ll be a great fit if:

  • You have good data visualisation skills, including knowledge of self-serve tools like Looker, Qlik, Tableau or Power BI 
  • You have excellent communication skills and the ability to explain statistical concepts to business users
  • You have experience in presenting analysis in a structured and clear way using dashboards, presentations and written formats
  • You have good SQL knowledge 
  • You have the ability to take complex requirements from a range of stakeholders and turn these into clear actionable reports
  • You are strong communicator able to simplify complex data into compelling and insightful stories
  • You have Strong attention to detail
  • You have proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • You are comfortable working in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • You are good at quickly getting a grasp of any dataset that you are working with and can support other analysts to do so
  • You have a good understanding of the business – you quickly identify which metrics are relevant for an area and anticipate which data projects will add value
  • You are able to effectively form relationships with the business in order to help with the adoption of data driven decision making 
  • You have experience building models and dashboards to tight timelines and embedding these in operations to inform real-time business decisions
  • You have experience capturing stakeholder requirements across various levels of seniority and functions and building appropriate analytical solutions
  • You understand basic DWH concepts

A note on the future of work at Tide:

Tide’s offices are beginning to open for Tideans to return on a voluntary basis. Timelines for reopening will be unique for each region and will be based on region-specific guidelines. The health and well-being of Tideans and candidates is our primary concern, therefore, for the foreseeable future, we have transitioned all interviews and onboarding to be conducted via Zoom.

Once offices are fully open, Tideans will be able to choose to work from the office or remotely, with the requirement that they visit the office or participate in face-to-face team activities several times per month.
