What we’re looking for:

As our new Revenue Controller you’ll report to the Group Financial Controller and be responsible for the revenue reporting, control and flows for the Tide UK entities. You will work closely with the FP&A, Product and Operations teams to understand the revenue streams, the operational flows, reporting requirements and impact on the financial statements and management accounts.

This is an exciting opportunity as you will need to work closely with the business to understand the current revenue streams, but also be involved from inception on designing reporting processes and providing accounting guidance on any new revenue reporting as the Tide business continues to grow and expand. You will also need to work with our international locations to ensure that revenue is being reported consistently across the Group. 

It’s exciting times here at Tide, we are scaling and developing our product offering at a phenomenal rate and have made our first step into our ambitious plans towards international expansion with our move into the Indian SME marketplace. We need someone to be proactive, take initiative and build out best in class financial reporting processes and procedures. 

As a Revenue Controller you’ll be:

  • Reporting of the different revenue streams for the UK operating entities, including Payment Services, Business Services, Financial Services and Credit
  • Understand the nature and economics drivers of each revenue stream, product and associated COGS, the operational flow both from a member and Tide perspective, how the data is captured in our systems and the financial reporting impact
  • Document the revenue recognition under FRS 102 for each revenue stream and update as new products are developed
  • Liaise with and be the point of contact from a Finance perspective for external stakeholders who are involved in the revenue cycle
  • Collaborate closely with FP&A Manager – Revenue, Product and Operations teams to understand the revenue drivers, operational cash flows and reporting requirements ahead of the launch of new products and features
  • Work as part of the Financial Reporting and Control team to ensure accurate accounting of the revenue and COGs accounts
  • Work with our global finance teams to ensure consistency of revenue reporting across the Group
  • Build robust financial control processes and strong internal control framework for the revenue and COGs financial statement line items
  • Maintain best practice documentation of accounting policy and working papers for material transactions and new revenue products
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of monthly P&L and balance sheet 
  • Ensure proper books and records for all financial transactions
  • Liaise  with external auditors 
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and improve accounting processes, operations and systems

What makes you a great fit:

  • You hold a professional finance qualification (ACA preferred)
  • 1-2 years PQE in a revenue controller role in the Payments or Fintech sectors  
  • You have strong financial acumen and excellent technical accounting skills; familiar with accounting standard and disclosure requirements under UK GAAP and/or IFRS
  • You are experienced in dealing with the statutory audit of financial services company
  • You are confident dealing with senior stakeholders across the business and owning your work with minimal hands-on management
  • You have meticulous attention to detail
  • You have exceptional organisational skills
  • You have a curious mind and high level of problem solving capability
  • You are analytical and data driven 
  • You are motivated by making a difference and getting things done
  • You would like to work in a fast-paced, scale up environment
  • Your are personable and able to build strong working relationships
