Set up and manage your Xero Connector

Xero Connector allows you to seamlessly send your Tide transactions, invoices and receipts to your Xero software, making Bookkeeping easier and more accurate.

Follow the steps below to get set up and manage your connection.

Set up your Xero Connector

Step 1: Find Xero Connector in-app

  1. Update your Tide app to the latest version and log in

  2. Go to the Admin tab and tap All Actions > Accounting integrations

  3. You can then either initiate a new connection or you'll see your existing Xero integration

Step 2: Map your categories

When you make or receive a payment, you can map its category.

This tells Xero Connector how to automatically categorise your Tide transactions when their synced to your Xero accounts. This lets you do 1 click reconciliation in Xero.

Your mapping here will overwrite existing bank categorisation rules you've set up in Xero.

  1. Tap Map categories on the Xero Connector screen

  2. You’ll see a suggestion of how your categories are mapped

  3. Change a suggestion by tapping on the category and selecting a different Xero account

  4. You can leave a category without a mapping. Tide transactions with this category won't be automatically mapped to your Xero account, so you’ll need to manually reconcile them or set up rules in Xero

  5. Once you’re happy with your mapping, tap Save mapping

Manage your Xero Connector

Update your category mapping

  1. Tap Xero Connector > Manage mapping

  2. Select your new mapping

This new mapping will then apply to all data synced after this point.

Update your synced accounts and data

You can change your synced accounts anytime through your Tide app.

  1. Tap Xero Connector > Edit connections

  2. Select which accounts you’d like to sync, and which data you’d like to sync.

Manage your Xero Connector subscription

You will be billed £6.99 + VAT for your subscription on the 1st of each month. If you sign up to Xero Connector mid-month, you’ll pay a pro-rata fee on the 1st of the next month for your use.

If you have upgraded to or are on a Smart, Pro, or Max plan, Xero Connector is included as part of your subscription.

To cancel your Xero Connector subscription:

  1. Tap Xero Connector > Manage membership

  2. Tap Cancel subscription

This will immediately stop your enhanced sync, meaning your detailed transaction mapping and related data will stop syncing with Xero.

Your connection between your Tide account and Xero account will remain, but only basic data will be synced.
