What is tools insurance?

Tools and Materials Insurance is a type of business insurance that covers the cost of replacing your tools in the event of theft, damage caused by fire or a road traffic accident. It’s essential for tradespeople who can't afford to halt their workday.

While many insurers reduce payouts based on the age of your equipment, Tide’s Tools and Materials policy covers your tools at purchase price with no depreciation. 

This policy excludes coverage for pre-existing damage, wear and tear, courier goods, or electronics, and will not pay out for theft from  unlocked vehicles, unsecured locations or those without visible signs of forced entry.
