How to earn and manage your Construction Boost

The Construction Cashback Boost turns your everyday construction spend into automatic 1% cashback.

How Construction Boost cashback works

How Construction Boost cashback works

Your cashback payments

You'll earn 1% cashback on all eligible purchases.

This is up to a maximum of £200 worth of cashback per month.

If you’re on Max, you'll get 1% Construction Boost cashback on top of the cashback you’re already getting from your plan.

Any cashback you earn for the current month will arrive in your account within the first 21 days of the following month. You'll see it on your timeline as ‘Monthly Cashback reward’.

Purchases eligible for cashback

You can earn cashback for purchases you make with merchants registered under supported Merchant Category Codes. These are:

  • Building materials suppliers – 5211

  • Electrical parts and equipment retailers – 5065

  • Construction materials not elsewhere classified – 5039

  • Hardware stores – 5072

  • General contractors – 1520

If the merchant doesn't use Merchant Category Codes

Cashback eligibility is based on the seller's Merchant Category Code (MCC code), which indicates how they're registered with their payment provider.

In rare cases, a merchant might not be registered under an eligible code. This means cashback won't apply, even if the purchase looks construction-related.

These codes are set by the merchant and their acquirer, not by Tide. If you're unsure about how they're registered, please check directly with them.

If the mercahnt isn't registered, it would be worth finding a merchant who is registered so you can gain your cashback.
