Map your domain to your website

Mapping your domain name to your website means connecting the web address you own, for example, yourdomainname.co.uk, to the place where your website’s files are hosted. This tells the internet which website to open when someone types in your domain name.

  1. In the Website Builder, head to Site Settings > Domain mapping

  2. Click on Map a domain or the red '+' button

  3. Map your domain using your domain provider's control panel. Control panels differ between providers but the process remains the same

See the full domain mapping instructions from our partner - BaseKit.

Must-knows about your emails

  • Email addresses using your domain name are available only for domains purchased through Own Website

  • Your username and password are the ones you create when setting up the mailbox. If you forget them, you can view or reset the password in your site builder's dashboard under Mailboxes

  • Back up your email data. Do this regularly, so you can recreate your correspondence at any time, even if you cancel Own Website in the future

  • Each email account comes with 5GB of storage by default and uses SPF, DMARC, and DKIM authentication methods. These are security tools that help protect your email from being spoofed or marked as spam. They make sure the emails you send are really from you and not from someone pretending to be you
