What you need for sending international payments

You'll need your SWIFT (Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunications) details.

Get your SWIFT details

  1. Tap Pay > select your account from stacked accounts

  2. Tap International account details > > wait for them to be enabled

  3. Select your currency

You'll only get one set of SWIFT account details. If you have more than one Tide account, these details will be linked to your primary Tide account.

  1. Tap Pay > select your account from stacked accounts

  2. Tap International account details > select your currency

  3. Tap Share details to send your IBAN, Bank Identifier Code (BIC), and bank address

  4. The person paying you can then use these details to send you money from abroad

Processing the international payments you receive

If you’re receiving a payment sent to you via SWIFT, it will usually take a few minutes to arrive in your account.

Sometimes this may take up to 5 business days, as any money sent to you will need to pass our security checks.

The money will be automatically converted to GBP and will appear in your main account's balance.

Amounts you can receive

This depends on your Tide account limits. To view yours:

  1. Tap Pay > select your account from stacked accounts

  2. Tap Limits to see the limit on what you can receive

Not receiving your international payment?

This could be because:

  • They'll need to select the currency before sending the payment. If they send it in GBP, their bank may charge them additional fees

  • If a payment takes longer to arrive, you should request a Proof of Payment from the sender. They can get this from their bank. When they share the Proof of Payment with you, tap the Support icon in the top-right of your app so our team can look into it for you

  • All international payments are subject to eligibility criteria. The eligibility criteria is set internally between ourselves and our partner, and we’re not able to disclose this for security reasons

Your SWIFT payments are processed through a separate license to your GBP payments.

You'll be able to see them on your monthly statement, and in a separate statement too.
