Where you can use your Business Phone Number

Calls and SMS

We don't support outgoing calls or outgoing SMS when you are outside the UK. 

You can receive incoming calls and SMS from the UK and 38 specified European countries.

Data

When using your Unlimited Data Boost outside the UK, you'll have access to 10GB data roaming per month. There are no extra roaming charges for using this service in 38 specified European countries.

Activate your eSIM

Activate your eSIM

You can have one phone number per business, and you can bring a number to Tide or get a new one. To get started, first activate your eSIM.

Step 1: Check if your device supports eSIM

Tide Business Phone Number uses eSIM, a digital SIM card built into your phone, supported by:

  • iPhone: all models from iPhone XS (2018)

  • Samsung: most models from the Galaxy S20 series (2020)

  • Google Pixel: all models from Pixel 3 (2018)

Dial *#06# to check. If your device is compatible, you’ll see an eSIM unique identification number pop up.

Step 2: Upgrade to a Paid Plan if you need to

Tide Business Phone Number is exclusively available and free for all Paid Plan members:

  1. Tap Payments, then tap your Initials in the top-left corner 

  2. Tap Profile and Settings > Membership 

  3. Scroll down to Manage your plan and tap Make a selection

To access your menu, you'll need an internet connection:

  1. Tap Admin

  2. On the right side of Products, tap View all > Business Phone

  3. Tap Activate free eSIM and wait for a few minutes until first button turns green and displays Active

  4. Tap Install eSIM and select if you're using an Apple or Android phone

Step 4: If you're an Apple user

  1. Tap Activate now

  2. Follow the on-screen instructions

  1. Copy the activation code

  2. On your phone, tap Settings > Mobile Network

  3. Tap Add eSIM > Scan QR > Enter details manually

  4. Paste in your activation code and confirm

Bring your current number to Tide

Step 1: Get a PAC code

  1. Make sure your current mobile provider supports porting in

  2. Text PAC to 65075 from your current number

  3. Your current provider will send you a PAC code. This code will last 30 days

Step 2: Transfer your current number in-app

  1. Tap Admin > Products > Business Phone

  2. Tap Manage eSIM > Manage external number > Transfer a number to Tide

  3. Enter the number you would like to keep, your PAC code, and the date you would like to transfer your number

  4. Tap Transfer number and we'll notify you once your number is transferred, usually within 1 business day

Cancel your old phone number

Before you set up your new phone number with Tide, you can cancel your old phone number with a Service Termination Authorisation Code (STAC).

Get and use your STAC

  1. Text STAC to 75075 from your old number and your current provider will send you the code. It is valid for 30 days only, so your cancellation date should be within 30 days of requesting it.

  2. In your app, tap Manage eSIM > Manage external number > Cancel external number

  3. Enter the number you would like to cancel, your STAC code, and the date you'd like to make the transfer

  4. Tap Transfer number and we'll notify you once your number is transferred, usually within 1 business day

On top of your free calls and SMS, you can add unlimited data to your plan.

  1. Tap Business Phone > Manage eSIM > Get unlimited data

  2. Review your Contract summary and tap Subscribe now

  3. Go to your phone’s settings and make sure your Mobile (or Cellular) data is turned on

Moving your Tide number to another provider

  1. Use your Tide Business Phone to text PAC to 65075

  2. Share the code with your new provider and they’ll arrange the transfer

  3. Once complete, your Tide Business Phone Number will be closed automatically

  1. Tap Admin > Products > Business Phone

  2. Tap Manage eSIM > Uninstall eSIM

If you lose your device, you can uninstall your eSIM to avoid it being used by someone else.

The platform and support

Tide manages the member-facing aspects. We provide the platform where you purchase, manage, and administer your subscriptions, and handle your billing and any support queries.

The connectivity

Gigs provides the underlying digital mobile connectivity (the telecommunication service itself) that powers your Business Phone Number. As the Carrier of Record, Gigs ensures the telecom service is delivered properly and is the legally recognised provider of the connectivity.
