How to set up scheduled payments

Automate and future-date your payments for one less thing to worry about.

Set up a scheduled payment

Set up a scheduled payment

Available scheduled payments

  • A standing order repeatedly pays the same amount at a chosen frequency, such as weekly or monthly.

  • A future-dated payment goes out once on a date up to a year in the future.

Both are set up in the same way, just choose whether you want it to repeat when scheduling it.

Schedule a payment

  1. Tap Payments > Send > Make a Payment > select a Payee or Pay someone new

  2. Enter the amount and a reference > toggle on Schedule this payment

  3. Choose the frequency and the first date of the payment > Confirm schedule > Authorise

Troubleshooting your scheduled payments

Troubleshooting your scheduled payments

Your payment's failed?

  • Your usual account limits apply to scheduled payments. If you need to transfer more than your limit allows, tap the Support icon in the top-right corner of your app to request a limit increase

  • As a security measure, we may limit how much you can send to a newly added payee within the first 3 hours

Your payment's failed multiple times?

  • If a Scheduled Payment fails 6 times in a row, it’ll be considered ‘not needed’, and we’ll cancel it automatically. If you need to, you can set it up again at any time

Your payment's gone through but not been processed yet?

  • Repeat payments are only processed on business days
