UK Referral Terms and Conditions for Business Current Account Members
Promotion. Tide Platform Ltd (“Tide”) offers a £100 cash reward to all Tide Members with a business current account who meet the Eligibility Criteria outlined in clause 4 below (“Refer A Friend Promotion” or “Promotion”).
Terms. The Refer a Friend Promotion is subject to these terms and conditions (“Promotion Terms”).
Definitions. For the purposes of these Promotion Terms, the following terms shall have the meanings assigned to them hereinbelow:
“Referrer” means an existing Tide Member who received a promotional offer to invite others to join Tide and has a Referral Code assigned to them via the Tide app, in-app messaging, or email from Tide (“Referral Code”);
“Referee” means a business that does not currently hold a Tide Business Account and that is invited by a Referrer to open a new Tide Business Account using the applicable Referral Code. The Referee must meet Tide’s eligibility criteria for account opening, available here. The Referee may be connected to the Referrer (e.g. the same individual or company group), provided that the Referee is a different legal business entity from the Referrer and is opening its own Tide business account for the first time.
“Successful Referral” shall have the meaning defined in clause 4 below.
Eligibility Criteria. In order for a referral of an eligible Referee by an eligible Referrer to be considered as a Successful Referral, the following requirements shall be met:
The Referee must download the Tide app, complete all required onboarding steps (including identity and business verification, “KYC”), and successfully open a Tide Business Account within the Promotional Period. Tide reserves the right to open a Tide Membership Account only once KYC checks are completed in accordance with the Tide Membership Terms. Tide shall not be required to provide a reason, nor held responsible, if a Referee’s application is declined.
The Referee must complete the sign-up process using the Referral Code (as set out in clause 5).
Once the Referee’s Tide Business Account is opened, the Referee must successfully spend a minimum of £500 on their Tide Card within ninety (90) days. Only valid card transactions will count toward the spend amount (exclusions are set out in clause 6d).
Both the Referee and the Referrer must hold an active Tide membership and remain in compliance with the applicable standard terms and conditions for Tide accounts (“Tide Terms”) until they receive the applicable Reward under this Promotion. (each of these sub-clauses is referred to below as the “Eligibility Criteria”).
Referral Code. The Referee must enter the Referral Code:
While signing up for a Tide Business Account during the Promotional Period on https://web.tide.co/sign-up/, or
While signing up via the Tide app, or
Retrospectively, by applying Promo Code within the Tide app 'Account Details > Referrals' section under ‘Redeem’ tab, within one (1) week of opening their Tide Business Account, or
By notifying Tide via the in-app chat within one (1) week of opening their Tide Business Account.
Rewards
For each Referee who has successfully completed the Eligibility Criteria under clause 4 above:
a £50 monetary reward will be credited to the Referrer’s existing Tide Business Account for referrals that successfully completed the Eligibility Criteria on or before 21/09/2025, or a £100 monetary reward will be credited to the Referrer’s existing Tide Business Account for referrals that successfully complete the Eligibility Criteria on or after 22/09/2025 (“Referrer Reward”);
a £50 monetary reward will be applied to the Referee’s new Tide Business Account for referrals that successfully completed the Eligibility Criteria on or before 21/09/2025, or a £100 monetary reward will be applied to the Referee’s new Tide Business Account for referrals that successfully complete the Eligibility Criteria on or after 22/09/2025 (“Referee Reward”) (referred to jointly as a “Reward”).
If a Referee is invited by more than one Referrer to Tide, the Reward will be granted to the Referrer whose Referral Code was used by the Referee.
It may take up to eight (8) weeks from the date the Referrer and the Referee have satisfied the Eligibility Criteria in clause 4 above for the Reward to be validated and transferred to their respective Tide Business Accounts.
Exclusions. The following transactions are not considered eligible transactions and thus will not count towards the Reward:
repeated purchases (e.g. subscriptions);
fees (e.g. bank fees such as product fees and loan fees), promotional merchandise, gift cards, cheques, as well as charges and interest or any bill payments;
currency conversion fees or other foreign transaction fees;
deposits, balance transfers or other money transfers (e.g. loan, debt or credit card repayments);
ATM withdrawals;
any top-ups or payment of funds to payment service providers, prepaid cards and any prepaid accounts;
tax payments;
payments to government institutions and services (e.g., property, land, company or vehicle registration and licence fees, as well as parking fees or other administrative fees or charges);
securities, brokers/dealers and
disputes and recharges.
Important to note: The above list is non-exhaustive and may be subject to change from time to time. Merchants or the merchant banks get a specific code based on what they sell or the services they provide. This code is called a Merchant Category Code (MCC). Tide uses the MCC to work out whether the applicant can earn a Reward on a transaction. Tide does not control what type of code a merchant gets and is not responsible for any ineligibility due to MCC coding. This means that in some cases, a merchant might sell something that seems eligible for the Reward, but because of the MCC, the transaction isn’t eligible.
Miscellaneous
Participation in this Promotion is limited to one (1) Tide Business Account per Referee.
We encourage participants to review these Terms regularly. Tide reserves the right to amend the Terms or withdraw referral schemes, competitions, or promotions at any time. Continued use of Tide’s services shall constitute acceptance of any such changes.
Participants must use the Promotion in the manner intended by Tide and must not use the Referral Code as a means of generating income or operating a commercial referral business.
Tide reserves the right to reverse any Reward received under this Promotion if (i) the Reward was obtained fraudulently, (ii) the participant has breached the Promotion Terms or the applicable Tide Terms in relation to holding a Tide Business Account, or (iii) a technical error occurred in applying the Reward.
If Tide has reasonable grounds to believe that a participant has engaged in fraud or material abuse of this Promotion (for example, by attempting to mislead Tide Member Support to receive a Reward), Tide may take any corrective or preventative actions it deems appropriate under the circumstances.
Tide makes no warranty and accepts no liability in connection with this Promotion, its availability, or its interaction with any of Tide��s products or services.
This Promotion cannot be used in conjunction with any other Tide offer or promotion related to the opening of a new Tide Business Account.
