What you need for sending USD

You'll need your ACH details.

The Automated Clearing House (ACH) system is a way to send out electronic credit and debit transfers. It allows payments in the U.S. and internationally.

Get your ACH details

  1. Tap Pay and select your account from the stacked accounts

  2. Under Account details, tap ACH > Enable USD payments

You'll only get one set of ACH account details. If you have more than one Tide account, these details will be linked to your primary Tide account.

Processing your USD payment

As a general guideline, it takes 5 to 6 working days to send money outside the UK.

Tide cannot guarantee the exact time taken as this depends on the local and intermediary bank systems.

Amounts you can pay

The minimum USD payment you can make from your account is 2 USD. There aren’t any limits on the number of USD payments that you can send.

As with all of our international payment services, regulatory restrictions apply to certain countries/territories.

USD payment won't go through?

USD payment won't go through?

This could be because:

  • If you enter incorrect recipient details, the USD via ACH payment won't be processed and won't show in your transaction history.

  • If you entered the wrong IBAN, it won't go to your payee. If the wrong IBAN you entered exists, the payment may still be processed. To resolve this, tap the Support icon and we'll support you. We'll apply the exchange rate available at the time of the return. This means when the payment is returned to you, it might be a different amount.

  • All USD payments are subject to eligibility criteria. Yours might have failed this eligibility criteria. The eligibility criteria is set internally between ourselves and our partner, and we’re not able to disclose this for security reasons.

USD fees

Your USD via ACH transactions are subject to a fee (based on your Tide plan), the interbank exchange rate on the day, and a FX markup.

We collect the fees during payment processing. You'll see them listed in the confirmation screen (when making a payment).
