What you need for sending USD

You'll need your ACH details.

The Automated Clearing House (ACH) system is a way to send out electronic credit and debit transfers. It allows payments in the U.S. and internationally.

Get your ACH details

  1. Tap Accounts > Details next to your main account

  2. Tap ACH > enable USD payments

You'll only get one set of ACH account details. If you have more than one Tide account, these details will be linked to your primary Tide account.

Add your payee if they're new

If you're transferring USD to a brand new recipient, you'd need to add their bank details.

  1. Tap Accounts > Send > Send money abroad

  2. Tap +Add recipient and choose if you'd like to pay them in EUR or USD

  3. Select the recipient type (ie. business) and enter the recipient's legal name, routing number, account number, and address

  4. Tap Next > Approve recipient

Pay USD

  1. Tap Accounts > Send money abroad

  2. Fill in the amount in GBP you want to send and the reference

  3. Tap Next and select your recipient from the list

  4. Review the amounts and fees in the Confirmation screen and tap Confirm payment

Processing your USD payment

As a general guideline, it takes 5 to 6 working days to send money outside the UK.

Tide cannot guarantee the exact time taken as this depends on the local and intermediary bank systems.

Amounts you can pay

The minimum USD payment you can make from your account is 2 USD. There aren’t any limits on the number of USD payments that you can send.

Your USD via ACH transactions are subject to a fee (based on your ), the interbank exchange rate on the day, and a FX markup.

We collect the fees during payment processing. You'll see them listed in the confirmation screen (when making a payment).
