How to use Tap to Pay

Open the Tide app on your smartphone. Go to the Get Paid tab followed by Tap to Pay and enter the payment amount.

Present your smartphone to your customer

Your customer holds their card horizontally, or their device at the top of your smartphone, over the contactless symbol

When you see the Done tick, the card read is complete and the transaction is being processed.

Privacy and security built in

Tap to Pay on iPhone uses Apple's built-in security and privacy features to protect both business and customer data. When a payment is processed, Apple doesn't store card numbers or PIN information on its servers, ensuring all data remains private and secure.

Tap to Pay on Android encrypts card information on your phone using NFC, meaning no card numbers or PINs are stored on your phone – keeping your data safe.
