Can a non-UK resident open a Tide business account?

The company formations service is only available to UK residents at this time. You can apply for a Tide account (without the company formations service) from outside of the UK. In some cases, we may have to complete additional checks in order to process your application to open a business current account.

To send a payment in EUR via SEPA, you’ll first need to request your EURO SEPA details and accept the SEPA T&Cs available here. You can find your SEPA details in the app by going to Payments > Details next to your main account > EUR SEPA. Tap Share to send them to your customers in SEPA countries and receive payments from them.

To make a SEPA transfer, just go to Payments > Send > Send money abroad > Euro, then enter the recipient’s details, amount and reference, and confirm your payment.

To send an international payment in USD to the US via ACH, go to Payments > Send > Send money abroad > US Dollar, then activate USD Payments. After that, you’ll be able to enter the amount, reference, and recipient’s details, approve the recipient, and confirm the payment.

We’ll apply a 1.5% FX markup to your EUR and USD transactions. If you’re on a paid plan, the FX markup is reduced to 0.5%.

You can also receive international payments in GBP via SWIFT (Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication). To do this, go to Payments > Details next to your main account > SWIFT in the app, and tap Share to send your details to payors.

We’ll charge 20p per SWIFT payment you receive. If you’re on a paid plan, the 20p fee starts only after you’ve used up your monthly free transactions.

You can’t send payments via SWIFT or receive USD via ACH, but we’ll let you know if this becomes possible in the future.
