Who provides the Business Phone Number service?
This service is offered by Tide in collaboration with our trusted partner, Gigs.
What role does Tide play in this service?
Tide manages the member-facing aspects – we provide the platform where you purchase, manage, and administer your subscriptions. We also handle your billing and any support queries you may have regarding the service. Our goal is to make it easier to run your business in one place.
Looking for information about Emergency Relay Services (Relay UK, 999 BSL, and Emergency SMS), accessible billing formats, or extra support for vulnerable circumstances? Visit our Help Centre page or the Gigs Accessibility Policy.
What is Gigs' role?
Gigs provides the underlying digital mobile connectivity (the telecommunication service itself) that powers your Business Phone Number. As the Carrier of Record, Gigs ensures the telecom service is delivered properly and is the legally recognized provider of the connectivity.
Can I use my Business Phone Number when traveling outside the UK?
The service is primarily for use within the United Kingdom (UK). We do not support international roaming for making outgoing calls or sending outgoing SMS when you are outside the UK. All outgoing use must originate from within the UK.
However, you can still receive incoming calls and SMS from the UK and 38 specified European countries and, when using your Unlimited Data Boost, have access to 10GB data roaming per month. There are no extra roaming charges for using this service in the specified countries.
How do I install my eSIM?
Installing your eSIM is easy and quick. You'll need an internet connection and a device that supports eSIM. In your app, tap: Admin > on the right side of Products, View all > Business Phone.
You'll see a menu, where two yellow buttons appear, right above Business Phone Number – Inactive and Installation required. These will turn green a couple of hours after you’ve made your first call or text.
If you're on a paid plan, you'll need to tap:
Activate free eSIM > wait for a few minutes > you'll be guided back to the main Business Phone menu, where the first button will turn green and display Active
Install eSIM > select if you're using an Apple or Android phone:
Apple users, you'll need to choose how to install your eSIM. Either via Quick installation (tap Activate now > follow the on-screen instructions) or Alternative way (Copy activation code > on your phone, tap Settings > Mobile Network > Add eSIM > Scan QR > Enter details manually > paste in your activation code)
Android users, you can install your eSIM via the Alternative way

Which devices are compatible with the Business Phone Number service?
The Business Phone Number uses a digital mobile connectivity solution, often delivered via eSIM. This is a card built-in to your phone, which you set up online.
Your device must support eSIM functionality. Did you know you can use the same phone for both your personal and business calls? Simply check if it supports Multiple eSIMs or Dual eSIM.
How can I check if my phone supports eSIM?
Most modern smartphones from major manufacturers (including iPhone, Samsung, Google Pixel, etc.) support eSIM:
– iPhone: All models from iPhone XS (2018) and newer.
– Samsung: Most phones from the Samsung Galaxy S20 series (2020) and newer.
– Google Pixel: All Pixel 3 (2018) and newer.
It’s easy to check if your device is compatible. Simply dial *#06# - if your device is compatible, you’ll see an EID (eSIM unique identification number) pop up.
You can also check this from your Business Phone menu. Simply tap: Manage eSIM > eSIM phone compatibility > search for your phone
Will the service work on older phones?
No, devices that don’t support eSIM technology will not be compatible with the Business Phone Number service.
What about my existing number – can I bring it to Tide or cancel it?
Transfer your existing – business or personal – number to Tide via a Porting Authorisation Code (PAC). Text PAC to 65075 from your old number. Your current provider will send you a PAC code*.
Cancel your old phone number with a Service Termination Authorisation Code (STAC). Text STAC to 75075 from your old number. Your current provider will send you a STAC code* to disconnect your old number.
Don’t forget to check if any early termination or porting fees apply with your current provider.
*Your PAC or STAC code is valid for 30 days only, so your port in date should be within 30 days of requesting it.
Once you have your code, in your Tide app, tap:
Admin > Products > Business Phone
Manage eSIM > Manage external number
Transfer a number to Tide (and use your PAC code) or Cancel external number (and use your STAC code)
